Each child’s experience of their childhood matters. This affects their mental and physical health alike. The earlier in a child’s life we enhance their experience, the greater the impact, and more far reaching.

My mission is to collaborate with parents, caregivers, and community partners, to help kids flourish through the lens of lifestyle medicine.

Healthful Eating

Food is medicine. In line with the latest evidence as well as Canada’s Food Guide, we will work with you and your child(ren) to help build an understanding of nutrition and enhance your child’s nutritional intake.

Healthy Relationships

A child who has at least one safe, stable, nurturing relationship in their lives will be more likely to deal with the stressors of life. Social connectedness is important for mental health. We will help you and your child(ren) with skills and knowledge to empower you to build a strong sense of social connectedness. Another key healthy relationship we endeavour to foster is that between the child and themselves, both in mind and body.

Physical Activity

Keeping active is an important ingredient for living a healthy lifestyle, enhancing mental and physical health and well-being. Whether it’s a nature walk, yoga in the park, a short walk around the block - every bit counts! We will help you create an activity plan that helps you and your family achieve your health goals.

Stress Management

In our fast-paced society, stress is bound to exist. We will help you and your child(ren) develop skills to manage their emotions and combat stress. We create personalized plans based on the developmental stage of each child, within the context of their own little world. It’s never too early to start - in fact, the sooner the better!

Restorative Sleep

Sleep is vital for a developing and growing child’s lifelong health and well-being. We know this can be a challenging area for some kids, so we are here to help you and your kids get a good night’s sleep!

Avoidance of Risky Behaviours/Exposures

Depending on the age and stage of your child, what constitutes risk can vary. For a young child, this may be exposure to second hand smoke, excessive screen time, or accidentally ingesting a medication that happened to be out. For older kids, we venture into the territory of social media, screen addictions or exposure to risky substances. We will help you navigate through these areas (and more). With a preventative lens, we will also help you anticipate what’s to come so you can be proactive parents!
